7th grade homework 2/11-2/15

This week we will begin work on the ELO 6: Persuasive Letter. Students have researched the field trip that they think would be a great experience for the 7th grade, and now they must convince Principal Gates! Also students will still be reading non-fiction articles outside of class and well as in Scope magazine.

Monday 2/11


1. Find and read a short non-fiction article from any local or world newspaper such as AM New York or other free newspapers
2. Non-fiction response #4: Answer ALL OF the following questions about your article, and staple your article into your notebook next to the response.

1. What is the main idea of your article?
2. Who would benefit reading your article and why?
3. What was the author's purpose in writing this article?

Tuesday 2/12

1. Complete the ELO 6: graphic organizer for field trip (if you complete this in the lab last week, then you have no home work)


Wednesday 2/13


1. Find and read a short non-fiction article from any local or world newspaper such as AM New York or other free newspapers
2. Non-fiction response #5: Answer ALL OF the following questions about your article, and staple your article into your notebook next to the response.


1.What is the author’s argument in your article?
2.What is one supporting details form the article?
3.How is the article structured? (Description, sequence, cause and effect, problem and solution, …. And?)

1. Complete Winter Break Packet.
